Unit 1 is all about communication and employment skills in IT. In unit 1 the subjects you will be covering is SWOT analysis which stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. This is basically exploring your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, thinking of ways to tackle your weaknesses and threats. Also finding what opportunities you have and what you can do to use your strengths to give you more opportunities.
You will be also covering attributes, attitudes and skills in unit one to identify them and what they mean and so you can identify key attributes, attitudes and skills what a employee will need.
You will be also learning about barriers of communication what are they? And how can you overcome them? You also be learning about the structure of PDP (personal development plan) and how to plan for your tasks in lessons and how are you going to achieve it.
Get the chance to make up your own business and you will be given a budget to make the business work on a presentation working in groups. This is a fun task to do and can get your imaginations whizzing. Then you will present your idea in front of the whole class. You also get to design and make a poster on a event you can make up and advertise it with images and colour.
